2026 WCQ: Nobody is perfect – Ndidi begs Nigerians over missed opportunity against Zimbabwe

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has begged Nigerians over his missed goal scoring opportunity against Zimbabwe during both sides’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier a few days ago.
Ndidi received backslash from fans after squandering a chance to double Nigeria’s lead during the encounter, which eventually ended in a 1-1 draw at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Recall that Victor Osimhen put Nigeria ahead in the 74th minute.
Ndidi was presented with a golden opportunity to seal the game for the Super Eagles.
But the midfielder’s failure to convert from close range proved costly as Zimbabwe equalized in the 90th minute through substitute Tawanda Chirewa.
Frustrated by the result, some Nigerian fans took to the social media to voice their displeasure with Ndidi, calling out his performance and particularly his missed opportunity.
Angered by the message, the Leicester City star acknowledged the missed chance and urged Nigerians not be annoyed, adding that nobody is perfect in his of her job.
“Please make una no vex for goal wey I miss. Nobody perfect for him job,” Ndidi wrote on his Instagram story.
Nigeria’s next World Cup qualifier is against Rwanda in September.
