2027: We’re Bringing Peter Obi Back To PDP – Jerry Gana

A former Minister of Information and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Jerry Gana, has revealed the party is making serious moves to bring back former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview with AIT on Friday, Gana said the PDP is not only targeting Obi, who dumped the party in May 2022, but also reaching out to other prominent politicians who exited the party before the 2023 polls.
Obi contested the last presidential election under the LP, finishing third but with an impressive showing that reshaped Nigeria’s electoral dynamics.
Gana stated, “Why not? He Obi is not the only person. We are also moving to other persons. But I don’t want to announce until we really get there.”
He insisted the PDP now has a credible platform that can convince former allies to return: “I have a very solid platform. I can now go back to these people and say, the platform you were complaining about is now set, proper, and ready to move.”
Gana further said, “I know many of them would respond positively. What we need is a united, strong opposition to rescue Nigeria.”
On what makes the current PDP structure different, he added, “This time, the reforms we’ve done, the inclusiveness, the vision everything is clear. Anyone who wants change can come home.”
