26 killed, 3 injured as terrorists’ IEDs explode in Borno

Over 26 people, including four women and six children, lost their lives in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack along the Rann–Kala Balge to Gamboru Ngala road in Borno State.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 11am on Monday, April 28, 2025.
News Band gathered that several civilian vehicles travelling from Rann in Kala Balge Local Government Area toward Gamboru Ngala were hit by multiple explosives planted along the route.

Security sources confirmed that three other individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack.
Reports indicate that the convoy unknowingly drove into an area where the IEDs had been strategically planted.
The explosives were triggered by the vehicles’ movements, causing immediate and severe casualties.
Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate victims and provide medical treatment to the injured.
Security forces have since cordoned off the area and launched clearance operations to prevent additional threats.
The wounded victims have been transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment.
