8 killed, many injured as mining site collapses in Zamfara

The site caved in around 8:00 a.m. on September 25, according to security analyst Zagozola Makama.
The pit collapsed, burying a number of miners under debris.
Teams from the Anti-Illegal Mining Unit, led by their Commander, responded to the incident and recovered eight bodies.
Rescue operations are ongoing to locate any remaining victims.
The deceased and injured were taken to the General Hospital in Maru for autopsy and medical treatment.
