Lovers found unresponsive in their room in Rivers

A man and his female lover, simply identified as peace, have passed away in their room in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

Fellow residents believe they were killed by carbon monoxide from their generator.

It was learnt that the lovers took their power generator into the passage close to their room on Friday and left it on overnight.

The next day which was Saturday, May 23, they failed to show up from their room.

Curious co-tenants tried to get their attention but did not hear any feedback and forced the door to their room open only to find their lifeless bodies.

A fellow resident, Chima, said some of the neighbours quickly rushed to the Central Police Station in the town to report.

The Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said a preliminary investigation showed that the lovers might have died from inhalation of generator fumes.
