We need to understand his ideas

Despite putting his name on the scoresheet, Rasmus Hojlund couldn’t prevent Manchester United from suffering their second defeat in a row for the first time in Ruben Amorim’s reign.

Nikola Milenkovic broke the deadlock for Nottingham Forest inside two minutes, but the Danish striker pounced on the rebound to restore parity.

However, the visitors stunned the home crowds at Old Trafford by scoring twice early in the second period, with Andre Onana’s shaky display handing relatively easy goals to Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood.

Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for the Red Devils, but it wasn’t enough to avert a defeat.

After the contest, Hojlund admitted that he and his teammates have been poor when defending set pieces, especially after conceding three corner kicks in their last two outings, while urging the team to assimilate to Amorim’s plans sooner rather than later to prevent similar outcomes in their next fixtures.

Annoying goals of course, we need to do better, specifiically on corners, we’ve conceded too much now but I’m sure we’ll improve,” said the former Atalanta bomber in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

“I think maybe the opponent was thinking we lacked confidence at corners. I think it’s more about us being in a new position, new ideas, new set-piece coach, but we need to understand his [Amorim’] ideas.

Rasmus Hojlund wants Man United to improve on defending corner kicks

The young striker insists that Man United players must honor the jersey by producing much better displays.

“It’s a lot to take in but we need to deal with it, we are Manchester Unted and we need to do better.

“There’s a lot of games left but it’s not an ideal situation, but we need to try and stay positive.”

The Red Devils currently sit in a horrific 13th place in the Premier League standings, garnering 19 points from 15 fixtures.
