Amad Diallo inspires Fergie Time comeback victory in Manchester Derby
Just when Manchester United seemed to be heading to their third straight Premier League defeat, Amad Diallo emerged as the late hero by inspiring a stunning comeback.
Manchester City took the lead in the first half when Josko Gvardiol rose to meet a deflected cross from Kevin De Bruyne.
However, the Red Devils managed to pounce on their rivals’ shambolic defenses to score twice in the final minutes and earn a famous Derby victory, much to the dismay of the home supporters at the Etihad Stadium.
Amad Diallo turns Manchester Derby upside down
The in-form Amad was the main catalyst behind this stunning feat. The 22-year-old latched on a poor backpass from Matheus Nunes, and while trying to find an angle to place a shot past Ederson, the Portuguese defender tracked back to try and make amends, only to aggravate the situation by taking out the leg of the Ivorian inside his own penalty box.
Bruno Fernandes had missed a one-on-one chance early on, but he made no mistake from the spot, sending the Brazilian goalkeeper the wrong way.

But while Pep Guardiola urged his men forward in the hopes of restoring their lead, it was United who found the jaw-dropping winner at the stroke of full-time, just two minutes after finding the equalizer.
Lisandro Martinez played a long ball to the opposition box. But despite being surrounded by three blue shirts, Amad was first to the ball. His first shot wasn’t the purest, but it was enough to take the ball past Ederson before drilling it to the empty net while the City defenders were too slow to react.

This goal prompted wild celebrations at the away end of the stands, as the Red Devils managed to bounce back from their two recent defeats by deepening their crosstown rivals’ wounds.
