Amidst a truly turbulent season on all fronts for Manchester United, a handful of up-and-coming players have been shining lights.

The likes of Amad, for example, had been enjoying a career-best campaign after finally being granted the starting role he deserved by Ruben Amorim.

Ayden Heaven looked mature beyond his years when breaking through into the first team, and Leny Yoro is undoubtedly living up to his £52 million price tag.

Despite struggling with a few injury niggles, the 19-year-old has essentially cemented himself in Amorim’s backline over senior counterparts Victor Lindelof and, when fit, Jonny Evans. Rotation is still crucial given his age, but it certainly says something that he doesn’t look out of place in his first Premier League season.

Yoro has made 14 starts in all competitions thus far and a further nine appearances off the bench. He is poised to play a crucial role in United’s upcoming Europa League quarter-final against Olympique Lyonnais as Matthijs de Ligt is currently injured and a doubt to feature in either leg.

A truly remarkable statistic emerged about the youngster following Sunday’s Manchester derby stalemate; StatmanDave revealed the centre-half has not been dribbled past once in his last 12 matches – and there’s been some fierce opposition.

To put into perspective just how impressive the feat is, Virgil van Dijk has been dribbled past twice in Liverpool’s last two matches against Everton and Fulham, the latter saw Arne Slot’s men sustain defeat at Craven Cottage.

Ironically, Liverpool were among Yoro’s admirers prior to his Old Trafford switch, as were Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. United, however, swooped in to meet Lille’s demands and snap up the highly-rated prospect on a five-year deal.
