Exclusive: Man Utd open to selling Altay Bayindir

Manchester United are open to parting ways with Altay Bayindir at the end of the season, and have already set their sights on a replacement.
The 26-year-old signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2023 on a deal worth £4.3 million. The Turkiye international had already built himself a solid reputation following his time at Fenerbahce, but he was never able to usurp big-money signing Andre Onana in the pecking order, despite the latter’s shaky displays between the sticks.
Therefore, the Turkiye international has been a mere benchwarmer over the last two campaigns. He only made six appearances in all competitions this season, but he did manage to win plaudits for his heroics at the Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup third round. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hailed the custodian’s ‘outstanding’ performance.
Nevertheless, sources close to Stretty News believe Bayindir’s time at Old Trafford is coming to an end, as the goalkeeper will be allowed to leave the club in search of a prominent place. Man Utd have set their price at £6-7 million.

Luckily for the shot-stopper, he wouldn’t have to worry about the lack of suitors, as a host of clubs are interested in his services. This includes admirers from the Premier League, LaLiga and three Serie A clubs.
Bayindir’s lack of playing time did little to repel these suitors, as they still believe he has what it takes to replicate the superb displays he produced during his years at Fenerbahce, something he didn’t have the chance to do at Man Utd.
As for the Red Devils, our sources can confirm that INEOS have pinpointed Burnley’s James Trafford as the ideal profile to replace Bayindir.
The 22-year-old England international has been delivering the goods in the Championship this season, so he’s highly expected to play his football in the Premier League next term, whether with the Clarets or at a new club.
