* Aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship race in Anambra, Mr Valentine Ozigbo has rejected the outcome of the party’s Primary election held in Awka.

The rejection was contained in a statement signed by the former chieftain of Labour Party.

Ozigbo in the statement maintained that
has also filed a formal petition before the APC Gubernatorial Primary Appeals Committee, alleging that the process that produced Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu as the party’s flag bearer was riddled with fraud, irregularities, and violations of democratic norms.

Citing widespread manipulation, voter exclusion, and non-transparency in vote counting, Ozigbo asserted that the process violated not only internal party rules but also the broader expectations of fairness and accountability in a democratic system.

Ozigbo, noted that he positioned his protest as a defence for democratic values, not a personal grievance.

The Groups were received into the fold by the State Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye on Tuesday at the International Convention Centre, Awka.

In his speech, Governor Chukwuma Soludo shared his memories and experiences with with the later Senator Ubah.

Prof. Soludo who harped on his administration’s philosophy of “one state, one people, one agenda, which is the development and transformation of Anambra state, said that APGA is the only progressive vehicle of development, and canvassed for all hands to be on deck.

The Leader of the Group, Mr. Kamen Chuks Ogbonna said that the movement is laying down the banner of opposition and embracing the banner of partnership under the APGA platform, describing it as the birth of unity in progress.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has at plenary, confirmed Mr. Anthony Ughenu and Barrister Cynthia Idemobi as the substantive Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, respectively.

Their confirmation followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, during plenary today.

Anambra Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided plenary, congratulated the newly confirmed officers for their courage, dedication, and commitment to working harmoniously with lawmakers and staff of the Assembly.

* Land owners at Onuojukwu land Ezinifite village, Agunenwe land Ezinifite, Agunenwe land Okochi, and Adakamulunwa land Ezinifite, all in Okpuno, Awka South LGA, behind the new Government House, have staged a peaceful, calling on the state government to help them peacefully recover their lands from suspected land grabbers; some of whom they said are in the government and acting through proxies.

Speaking after they visited the portions of land where fences were pulled down and new ones and other structures coming up, Mr Emma Ezeobi said the land they bought from original owners as far back as 2007/2012, with relevant documents, are being encroached upon by unknown persons, adding that attempts to repossess their land have been met with arrest and police intimidation.

Contributing, another land owner Mr. Anthony Igwebuike Agbo, aged 65, said he is heartbroken that land he bought with his hard-earned money is being toyed with, calling for urgent government intervention, as he said that those who sold land to them have denied being behind their present predicament.

On her part, Mrs Oluchi Onyekachi, said the development brought to the area by the new Anambra Government House forced to the land grabbers to start dispossessing people of their land, leading to destruction of farm lands and other economic trees.

* The Njikoka Solution Re-Election Victory Tournament 2025 promises to be an exhilarating event, highlighting sportsmanship, unity, and community collaboration.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has signed
the Anambra State Development and Investment Corporation Law, 2025, and the Anambra State Electricity Law, 2025, which are anticipated to bolster the state’s economic landscape and energy infrastructure.

The Governor also approved the Anambra State Homeland Security (Amendment) Law, 2025, aimed at enhancing safety protocols, as well as the Anambra State Herbal Practice Law and the Anambra State Indigenous Traditional Medicine Practices Law, both set for 2024 and 2025 respectively, which seek to integrate traditional healthcare practices into the state’s medical framework.

The Anambra State Mission Schools of Nursing and Midwifery (Amendment No. 2) Law, 2025, intends to improve nursing and midwifery education standards within the state.

* Top stakeholders from Nnewi South LGA have commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his remarkable strides in infrastructural development, declaring that he has no contender in the upcoming November 8th governorship election in Anambra State.

Speaking, the Founder and Chairman of Chisco Group, Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu who led the stakeholders on the inspection of some of the governor’s major projects in Awka, including the Solution Fun City, the new Government House, and the Governor’s Lodge, noted that Governor Soludo has redefined governance in the state, stating that the achievements of past administrations combined cannot compare to what Soludo has accomplished in just a few years.

Other key stakeholders from Nnewi South including Chief Mike Umeh, a former Vice President and Acting President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Hon. Sunny Ozobialu, former member representing Nnewi South 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, and Barrister Ifeanyi Ezegamba, described Governor Soludo’s performance as unprecedented, affirming that his impact is felt across 21 local government areas of the state, which they said will give him a landslide victory at the November poll.

The stakeholders were conducted around the projects by Chief of Protocol to Governor Soludo, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye.

* The Government of Anambra State has received with profound sadness, the passing of Chief Maja Umeh, a former Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism.

The state government through a release signed by Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information, noted that Chief Umeh’s contributions to Anambra State’s growth and development in his time were profound.

“His legacies serve as a reminder of the power of dedicated public service and community engagement.

“As Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Umeh worked assiduously to promote Anambra State’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential while staying the course of Public Information Management. His efforts helped to project and sustain the state’s image and reputation as well as foster community development.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Chief Maja Umeh’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time”. Mefor stated.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially signed six new laws aimed at fostering investment, security in the state.

The signing ceremony took place at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia in the presence of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Majority Leader, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, among others.

Prof. Soludo during the signing, praised the collaborative efforts between the executive and the State House of Assembly, emphasizing the positive impact these laws will have on the community.

The Governor expressed hope for continued partnership in future legislative endeavors that support the growth and well-being of the Anambra people. He stated that the newly enacted laws encompass a diverse range of areas that reflect the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the citizens.
