FG to construct 100 housing units in each LGAs

April 10, 2025 | Abuja, Nigeria – In a bold effort to tackle Nigeria’s housing shortage, the Federal Government (FG) has unveiled plans to build 100 homes in each of the nation’s 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
This transformative project, part of the Renewed Hope Social Housing Programme, will soon be launched by President Bola Tinubu, marking a major milestone in national development.
During a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Minister Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa shared key details with representatives from Creative Sphere Limited.
He emphasized that this initiative reflects President Tinubu’s vision of ensuring dignified housing for all Nigerians, regardless of income.
“Our goal is to uplift communities and provide secure, affordable homes,” Dangiwa declared, underscoring the program’s focus on sustainability.
Funding for the project will come from the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund (RHIDF), ensuring long-term viability.
Importantly, 80% of the completed units will be reserved for local residents, prioritizing middle- and lower-income earners.
To make homeownership accessible, buyers will contribute just one-third of their monthly income toward payments.
For instance, a Nigerian earning ₦30,000 monthly will pay only ₦10,000, while someone making ₦90,000 will contribute ₦30,000.
Beyond housing, each estate will feature schools, clinics, police outposts, and shopping centers, fostering safe, thriving neighborhoods.
As anticipation builds for the official launch, stakeholders and citizens alike hope this initiative will significantly reduce housing deficits.
By empowering families and strengthening communities, the Renewed Hope Social Housing Programme promises a brighter future for Nigeria.
With strong leadership and inclusive planning, the nation takes a vital step toward prosperity and stability.
