The 49-year-old appeared on Thursday May 1, 2025, at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he confirmed his name, birth date, and address during a brief hearing.
Brand also confirmed he understood the bail conditions imposed by the court. He remained calm throughout the proceedings.

Charges Linked to Incidents From 1999 to 2005
Brand faces five separate charges involving four women, with alleged incidents occurring between 1999 and 2005.
According to Sky News, Brand was officially charged by post last month with the following:

In the 2001 case, Brand is accused of dragging a woman toward a men’s toilet. Another charge alleges he touched a woman’s breasts without consent.
Brand has strongly denied the charges. He previously stated, “I have never engaged in non-consensual activity.”
In a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, Brand said he welcomes the opportunity to defend himself in court and prove his innocence.
He described the upcoming legal battle as “a chance to finally address the accusations openly.”
Following Thursday’s session, the judge referred the case to the Crown Court, also known as the Old Bailey.
Brand must return to court on 30 May. He was seen wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and sunglasses.
A significant police presence and numerous journalists surrounded the courthouse during his appearance.
Brand removed his sunglasses upon entering, then stood as the charges were read aloud.
