* Members of Igbo Leaders of Thoughts have passed vote of confidence on Governor Chukwuma Soludo for what they described as deliberate efforts he has put in place to liberate Anambra from backwardness.

They made their decisions shortly after touring Governor Soludo’s projects sites.

The sites visited were the Ekwulobia flyover, Solution Fun City, New Government House and Governor’s lodge all in Awka, Okpoko New Heaven among others and congratulated Governor Soludo for the wonderful impressions he has left in the minds of Ndi Anambra, affirming that the enthusiasm of Ndi Anambra is very high as they welcomed peace and stability in the state.

Speaking through Professor Elochukwu Amaucheazi, the members of one of igbo apex socio cultural groups, the Igbo Leaders of Thought, said that with what they met on ground, Anambra is cruising into developing all sectors of the state economy simultaneously, adding that the assemblance of Ndi Anambra from all walks of life during the Easter celebration was phenomenal.

* The Local Government Chairman of
Idemili South Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has commissioned solar powered borehole water in Civic Centre, Oba.

Obi was accompanied alongside Deputy Mayor, Hon. Ifeanyi Anakuba, Majority Leader, Hon. Gozie Okafor,
President General of Oba, Engr. Uzo Ejiofor, stakeholders, councillors, party executives, women leader and youth leaders.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Obi emphasized the importance of providing access clean water, stating that it is a basic human right. She expressed her appreciation to the dignitaries who graced the occasion and promised to continue to work towards the improvement of livelihood of the people of Idemili South.

In his speech, the State Assistant Treasurer of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Uche Maduekwe, lauded Hon. Amaka Obi’s efforts towards community development, describing her as a progressive minded Mayor who is passionate about the needs of the people.

In his remarks, the President General of Oba community, Engr. Uzo Ejiofor commended Hon. Obi for the initiative, saying that it is a step in the right direction towards improving the living standard of the people in the community.

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ayamelum Local Goverment Area has held a mega rally in support of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid.

Speaking at Anaku, the headquarters of the council area, the Mayor of the council Hon. Alphonsus Ofumelu who is the convener of the event made it clear that the event is not a political rally or campaign and that what they have done was to thank ndi Ayamelum for the support they are giving to his administration, and also ask them to stand firm in re-electing Governor Soludo, saying that Ndi APGA Ayamelum want to ensure that the Governor is retained because he has touched all the local government areas in the state with his solution agenda including Ayamelum.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Petroleum and Minerals Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya during his speech noted that Ayamelum is in peace and that there is no division in the party, even as he pointed out that Governor Soludo has done fantastically well in his 3 years in office in both infrastructural and human capital developments, assuring that Ndi Ayamelum will massively re-elect the Governor.

*The Government of Anambra State has announce that President Bola Tinubu will be coming to Anambra State on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, on a state visit.

During this historic visit, Mr President shall commission some projects of the Soludo administration, showcasing the state’s progress and development under the leadership Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

In preparation for this high-powered visit, the government anticipates slight adjustments to traffic flow and commuter schedules. We kindly urge Ndi Anambra to cooperate with security agencies and other relevant authorities in the build-up to this visit.

* As the Anambra South Senatorial by-election approaches, Chief Emma Nwachukwu, the frontline Anambra South APGA Senate Aspirant, has positioned himself as a beacon of transparency, accountability, and responsible representation.

His manifesto is built on a strong commitment to ensuring that the people of Anambra South are not only represented but actively informed and engaged in the governance process.

Central to Chief Emma Nwachukwu’s agenda is the implementation of public budget tracking, a mechanism that will monitor how government funds are allocated and spent within the senatorial district. By keeping a close watch on public expenditure and project execution, he aims to bridge the gap between government promises and real impact on the lives of constituents.

“My mission is to make governance more transparent and participatory. The people of Anambra South deserve a Senator who will not only speak for them but also report back to them,” Chief Nwachukwu stated.

 

 

* The Anambra State Government has initiated an operation to reclaim land reportedly seized from Community Secondary School Obosi, with the Physical Planning Board leading the efforts.

Speaking in an interview, Sir Kenneth Obi, Global President of the School Alumni, revealed that approximately a 170 acres of school land had been illegally sold to developers by land grabbers over three years ago.

The discovery prompted the alumni association to seek government intervention, which they have now received.

Sir Obi expressed satisfaction with the prompt response from the state government and highlighted the association’s ongoing infrastructure projects at the school, which include the construction of ICT centers for 100 students, smart classrooms, a borehole, a bakery for skill acquisition, and perimeter fencing.

 

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced that his administration had fully paid seven years of accumulated gratuity and pension arrears inherited from his predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano.

The revelation was made during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration held at Ekwueme Square in Awka.

Soludo reiterated his government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, despite the current economic challenges.

* The member representing Aguata One Constituency, Hon. Anayo Okpaleke, has constructed a modern six-room toilet facility with running water at Girls High School, Uga in Aguata Local Government Area.

The project was commissioned by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, who was represented by the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Associate Prof. Vera Nwadinobi.

Hon. Okpaleke in his speech said the initiative was born out of the need to provide students especially the girl child—with access to proper sanitation and emphasized that access to basic amenities is a right, and expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his impactful educational policies and ongoing developmental efforts in Aguata and the entire state.

In her address, ASUBEB Chairman, Associate Prof. Nwadinobi thanked the lawmaker for the timely intervention, describing it as a valuable support to the Governor’s free education policies,

In their separate remarks the traditional ruler of Uga, Igwe Chidi Ezenwugo, and the President General of Uga, Nze Romanus Umenze and the Principal of Girls High School, Uga, Dr. Grace Umezinwa commended Okpaleke for attracting the dividends of democracy through his representation.

 

* A new political wave officially swept through Aguleri, in Anambra East LGA, following the formal inauguration of a “Political Likeminds” group at the Ugwunadegbe Primary School Field.

This historic convergence of well-meaning stakeholders, held under the powerful slogan “Ka A Kpaa Akpaa”, marks what many have described as the dawn of a new era for Anambra North
one that prioritizes shared ideologies over partisan affiliations, and progress over politics.

The Political Likeminds group, ably led by Barr. Francis Okeke is a non-partisan coalition of individuals from different political parties united by common values and a collective vision for sustainable development.

* The former Chairman of the PDP Anambra State Chapter, Dr. Ndubisi Nwobu says the PDP is fully in the race for the November 2025 governorship election.

Nwobu while speaking in an interview said PDP is a political party that sponsors candidates in elections, and as of today, the PDP is sponsoring a candidate in the upcoming election.

“Since I left office four years ago as the elected PDP chairman in Anambra State, we had not had an elected chairman until October 2024. Imagine an organization without leadership , it is bound to experience difficulties. In addition to the challenges in the state, there are also issues at the national level, where the leadership, including the chairman and secretary, are embroiled in a crisis.
