* Agriculture stakeholders have appealed to the Anambra State Government to show greater commitment towards addressing the challenges affecting food production in the area.
They identified inadequate attention to small scale women farmers as a major setback for food production because the women constitute more than half of the entire farming population of the state and the country.
The appeal was made at a stakeholders dialogue on enhancing accountability and transparency with oversight institutions in Anambra State, organized by the Small-Scale Women Farmers Organization in Nigeria (SWOFON) to enhance accountability and transparency within the oversight institutions.
The event held under the Strengthening Public Accountability for Result and Knowledge (SPARK 2) project funded by International Budget Partnership (IBP), was aimed at ensuring that small scale women farmers get more incentives from government.
* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa holds a grand thanksgiving mass following the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his position as the authentic National Chairman of APGA after forces of darkness attempted to smear his national chairmanship.
The Thanksgiving held at St. Jude Catholic Church, Fegge, attracted APGA faithfuls who were celebrating victory and renewed unity within the party.
* The Local Government Chairman of Anaocha Comrade Romanus Ibekwe has officially launched the Security Management and Finance Committee in Aguluzigbo.
In his remark, Hon. Ibekwe emphasized the importance of collaboration between community leaders, stakeholders and Anaocha Local Government to align with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of eradicating insecurity.
The Mayor noted that Governor Soludo has done noble on security which is a comprehensive approach to transforming Anambra State into a prosperous and developed state, with a focus on sustainable development and the well-being of its people. He encouraged the community to put in cameras to cushion the effects of insecurity.

for the good of Aguluzigbo Community.He told the residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and contribute to maintaining peace and order in Aguluzigbo community.
* Police Operatives attached to the Neni Divisional Headquarters responded swiftly to a distress call along Okacha junction, foiled a kidnap incident, rescued three victims.
The rescued victims include a husband and wife and recovered one of the victim’s vehicles from the scene.

Anambra State Command, the Joint Security Force, comprising the Military, Civil Defence and Vigilantes have complimented the onslaught of operational efforts of the Police aimed at arresting the armed hoodlums and to recover one Black Lexus 350 SUV with Reg. No: ABJ 557 LD reportedly snatched from the second rescued victim and which the hoodlums used to escape from the scene.
Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has urged residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding, working together with security agencies to maintain peace and security in the State.
* The Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (FA), Chikelue Iloenyosi has presented a gift of twenty five soccer balls to Nasarawa Amazons l.
Iloenyosi popularly known as “The General” presented the balls after Nasarawa Amazons stunned the highly-favored Bayelsa Queens with a 2-1 victory at the Round of 16 clash in the 2025 President Federation Cup in Awka Township Stadium, Anambra State.
“This is a token of encouragement for a team that showed real character and unity on the pitch.

Ndi Onitsha in their separate speeches maintained that Governor Soludo is APGA’s greatest asset, who has transformed Anambra State in three years as never witnessed before.
* The Founder, Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative, (GRENCHI), Mmachukwu Obimdike, says only concerted efforts will help Anambra State to achieve net zero goal by 2060.
She made the call during a Green Sustainability Forum organized by United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN) as part of the National Green Campaign.
Net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere and the amount removed from it.
Achieving net zero means that any emissions produced are offset by removing an equivalent amount of greenhouse gases through natural processes (like planting trees) or technology (like carbon capture and storage).
* Mr. Chibuzor Ojiakor from Ezi-Abba Village in Abba Ward II, has officially declared his membership in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The declaration took place at his country home in Abba, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State
In his speech, Ojiakor cited the commendable governance and developmental strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo as his motivation for joining APGA. He expressed confidence in the party’s vision and commitment to the progress of Anambra State.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, and
the member representative Njikoka two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Jude Akpua and The President-General of Abba, Mr. Alexander Ekwuagana, warmly welcomed Ojiakor into the APGA family, commending his decision as timely and beneficial for both the party and the community. They emphasized the importance of collective efforts in driving the state’s development agenda forward.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo joined hundreds of well-wishers at a Thanksgiving Mass celebrating the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa.
The event which took place at St. Jude’s Catholic Parish on Port Harcourt Road, Onitsha, and was presided over by Bishop of the Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye.
The Thanksgiving Mass was a heartfelt occasion that brought together political leaders, party faithful, clergy, and members of the community, all gathered to honour Barr. Ezeokenwa’s dedication and contributions to the party and the state at large.
In his speech during the service, Governor Soludo praised Ezeokenwa for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the principles of APGA.
* The Wolonso Club of Nigeria, a group of men united by understanding, love, care, and dignity, has celebrated their sixteen years of existence with a Club hall dedication ceremony.
While commissioning the club hall, the former member of House of Representative, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe lauded the spirit of oneness existing in them, saying that they have taken a bold step and laid a foundation that will stand for decades, asking members of the club to continue to bond together and never allow anything to come between them so as to attain more heights in future.
The President of Wolonso Club of Nigeria, Mr Nnamdi Iwuno, disclosed that all they did was by God’s Grace, noting that understanding, jokes and concern for one another have continued to bind them together even as he said erection of the hall is the best thing that has happened to them.
