Premier League-proven acquisitions appear to be the route INEOS are looking to take with Manchester United’s signings this summer.

Indeed, the Red Devils’ two main targets heading into the transfer window are highly-rated duo Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap, with the release clauses in the pair’s respective contracts ensuring United know exactly how much they’ll have to fork out (£92.5 million) to get the deals over the line.

Elsewhere, Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with United in recent weeks amid expectations he departs Brentford at the end of what’s been a career-best top-flight campaign for the Cameroon international.

Mbeumo has enjoyed scintillating form from the offset of 2024/2025 and is now ending the season on a high, which is only further impressing his suitors before they can officially make their moves.

The 25-year-old boasts a hugely impressive 18 Premier League goals thus far – already nine more than he accumulated in the entirety of 2023/2024. As well as that, he’s notched six assists and has recorded an average Sofascore rating of 7.51.

Brentford’s stance on Mbeumo sale revealed

According to The Telegraph, United, Liverpool and Newcastle United are among Mbeumo’s many admirers, although Arne Slot’s side haven’t been as heavily linked since last year. The Magpies, on the other hand, do hold a ‘strong interest’.

Mike McGrath’s report assures the Old Trafford faithful that any move for the Bees talisman is completely separate from that of their Cunha approach; both can be signed to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of his first full term in the dugout.

Mbeumo, whom ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy dubbed as a ‘mini-[Mohammed] Salah’, is valued in the region of £60m, with Thomas Frank ultimately resigned to losing his trusted lieutenant if the club’s demands are met.

“If the price is right – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open to it,” the Brentford boss told Sky Sports earlier this campaign. “I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren’t selling clubs.”
