Atiku condemns EFCC’s alleged unlawful detention of Kazaure

Atiku Abubakar has strongly criticized the EFCC for detaining Hon. Muhammad Kazaure without due process.
The former vice president accused the anti-graft agency of repeating a pattern of lawless arrests targeting government critics.
Speaking through his official X account, Atiku revealed Kazaure was taken from Kano to Abuja without formal charges.
He compared this to VeryDarkMan’s recent detention, which required public pressure to resolve.
The politician stressed Nigeria’s constitution demands proper arrest procedures.
“Even legitimate arrests must follow legal protocols,” Atiku declared.
He noted detainees must either face immediate charges or receive prompt release.
The statement highlighted Kazaure’s family and lawyers remain uninformed about allegations.
Atiku suggested the detention stems from Kazaure criticizing President Tinubu’s administration. He condemned the government for allegedly protecting corrupt allies while persecuting opponents. “This hypocrisy exposes their shameful double standards,” he added.
Meanwhile, civil society groups joined calls for transparency regarding Kazaure’s detention. Human rights monitors warned against using security agencies to silence dissent. Public attention now focuses on EFCC’s response to these serious allegations.
The former vice president concluded by warning authorities face historical accountability for such actions. As tensions rise, Nigerians await official explanations about Kazaure’s status. The case tests Nigeria’s commitment to constitutional rights and justice.
Observers note this incident follows growing concerns about Nigeria’s weakening democratic institutions. Atiku’s intervention amplifies demands for EFCC reforms to prevent abuse of power. The coming days will reveal whether justice prevails, or impunity continues unchecked.
