# Nsugbe community has launched Agunechemba Nsugbe Unit amidst industrious sons and daughters as well as notable groups in the community.

Held at St Joseph’s Catholic church field, Nsugbe, Anambra East LGA, the event attracted the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikioye Orutugu, Divisional Police Officer, Otuocha Division, Mr Moses Iruogabe and other security personnel.

Inaugurating Agunechemba Nsugbe Unit, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Orutugu, represented by the Officer In charge of Community Policing Oluchi Aniemena said that security of lives and property of the people is a divine task which is not an easy task, reminding them that their job is to protect lives and property, not to take laws into their hands, or involve in civil matters, not to be intimidated, to respect security men and women, not to be used as thugs and not to arrest and detain criminals for their own good.•

# Idemili South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi has received a major Labour Party (LP) stakeholder, Chief Ifediora Ayinofu to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In her speech at the event held at Oba on Saturday, Hon. Obi applauded the decision of Chief Ayinofu for joining APGA as the winning party and assured him of her administration’s commitment to carry him and other defectors along.

The Mayor stated that she will continue to consolidate on the efforts of Prof.
Chukwuma Soludo at the grassroot level, saying that the Governor’s re-election is sacrosanct.

In his address Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu praised Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for what he described as “Excellent Performance”, stating that the Governor has performed beyond expectations.

Iyiegbu maintained that Oba community will vote massively for Governor Soludo in the upcoming gubernatorial election in appreciation for his unprecedented Infrastructural projects in the state.

 

# The Deputy Leader and Counselor representing Ichida ward 2 in Anaocha Council area Mrs. Chinweogo Uba in collaboration with Anambra State Ministry of Education has organized a school debate competition tagged Adauba secondary schools Debate held at Ezeokpu Civic Center, Ichida.

The school debate competition with the topic “Social Media Should Be Held Accountable for Juvenile delinquency influenced by their contents” featured Community secondary school opposing the motion while St Augustine’s secondary school proposed the motion.

The State’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabu adviced the students to shun Social Media influence and focus more on their studies while calling on parents to help their children by censoring and monitoring their use of cell phone especially Android phone.

 

# The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has indicated interest to partner Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra state, in order to develop and empower students, who are talented in acting.

This was revealed by the National President of AGN, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, when he led the executive of AGN on a courtesy call to the rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, in her office.

Ejezie, who is an alumnus of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, acknowledged that a lot of changes had taken place in the polytechnic within a few weeks of the current administration and commended the rector for the good work she is doing.

 

# The Anambra State government has announced its partnership with SMFest through the Solution Innovation District (SID) in organizing the SMFest Awka 2025, a free digital skills training for Anambra youths, which aims at deepening innovation, technology adoption, and entrepreneurial growth among youths in Anambra and the Southeast region in general.

Disclosing this during a press briefing in Awka, the Chief Executive Officer of Solution Innovation District, (SID), and Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Innovation and Business incubation, Ms.

Chinwe Okoli who disclosed that SID is the official major sponsor of the SMFest Awka 2025, said that the Soludo government decided to support SMFest because it reflects its commitment to building a smart, creative, and digital tribe of young creators and Innovators, who will thrive in the global digital economy sphere.

Explaining that the Solution Innovation District was established by the Soludo led administration to drive digital transformation, stimulate job creation, and position Anambra as the Silicon Valley of Africa, Ms Okoli encouraged youths in the state to leverage on the opportunity to acquire one or more digital skills in order to become globally employable, and earn in foreign currencies.

 

# The Chairman of Dunukofia LGA, Hon. Chijioke Ozumba has flagged off the immediate construction of a strategic 1km road linking Ukpo to Ifitedunu.

The road popularly known as Ezi Mbombo started from the Oranto Ukpo axis of Ukpo/Ifitedunu Junction road and terminates at the Obieze Ifitedunu axis of Ifitedunu junction/Awkuzu road.

Performing the flag off at the weekend, Bar. Ozumba emphasized that his administration has come to work for Ndi Dunukofia, in line with Governor Soludo’s good governance. He assured that he will stop at nothing until he delivers the collective interest of Dunukofia Local Government.

# Shanaghan Memorial Secondary School, Odoakpu, has been declared the winner of a scheduled match at the ongoing C-Unit Charity Football Tournament following the absence of their opponent, Great Brighter Future Academy, Onitsha.

The march which was slated to take place at the Washington Grammar School football field in Onitsha North Local Government Area, could not proceed as planned due to the failure of Great Brighter Future Academy to appear for the game.

To keep the event lively and engaging for spectators, tournament organizers arranged a friendly match between the host school, Washington Grammar School, and Shanaghan Memorial Secondary School which ended ended 4–1 in favour of Washington Grammar School.

The game is sponsored by music icons Onyedikachi and Onyebuchi Ike popularly known as C-Unit with hit tracks “Odeshi” and “Asampete”.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed his administration’s intentionality about developing Anambra into a better planned and coordinated place.

Soludo was speaking at the International Convention Centre, Awka as a Guest Speaker at a Roundtable Meeting with Mr Governor On Business Enabling Reforms.

According to the Governor, before he came onboard, the state was developing in a chaotic manner, which made him put a master plan in place at the five thousand hectares around Ogboji axis, for specific purposes.

He made a commitment to doing more for the business community in the state.

# Another Illustrious son of Anaocha Local Government Area, Mr. Estate Onyedum has endorsed Professor Chukwuma Soludo for second term in office, describing him as a game changer who needs another opportunity to consolidate on his achievements.

Mr. Onyedum who is the Chairman Anambra State Sports Development Commission, noted that the good works and human oriented leadership style of Governor Chukwuma Soludo speak volume of him, and encouraged Ndi Anambra to vote massively for the Governor come November 8 election for continuity.
