2025: Happy International Fathers Day

Fathers tend to be taken for granted. History merely presents fathers as “donors” and have never been fair to place Fathers in their rightful position. It has been the other way round.
A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society. Father’ is the noblest title a man can be given. It is more than a biological role. It signifies a patriarch, a leader, an exemplar, a confidant, a teacher, a hero, a friend.
Fathers are the beginners. They begin the family process by finding the right partner. They form the family through their specimens, and they nurture the family through their hard work and caring.
A home without a father doesn’t function well. A family needs a father to anchor it because a father plays a vital role in a child’s development, influencing their emotional, social, and cognitive well- being. His involvement is crucial for a child’s overall development, impacting everything from their academic performance to their emotional resilience.
Fathers provide a sense of security and emotional support, fostering healthy emotional regulation and social skills. They model empathy, communication, and respect, which children learn to emulate. Children need a father to show them how to be in the world. They need to be given swagger and taught how to read a map so that they can recognize the roads that lead to life and the paths that lead to death. One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters. That is the thankless position of the father in the family—the provider for all and the enemy of all.
The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams, and aspirations he sets not only for himself but for his family. When a father teaches his children, he is teaching generations to come after him. That’s why every father should remember one day his children will LIVE his example, not his advice. Fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man.
Hello Fathers, one of the greatest lessons to behold is to make sure YOUR CHILDREN KNOW THAT YOU LOVE THEM because the narratives out there are that Fathers don’t love well like the mothers do. It’s beyond providing for their needs but more of getting deep involved in your children’s businesses. The fact is, Father’s tears and fears are unseen. His love is unexpressed, but his care and protection remain the pillar of strength of the family throughout the time. Write this in your heart.
