Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Sickle Cell Awareness Day is a day set aside by the United Nations to raise global awareness about sickle cell disease and its impact, especially in countries with weak healthcare systems.

“Both Sir Paul Chukwuma and I have a personal loss relating to sickle cell anemia, and indeed, many of us do. While Sir Paul lost a brother, Hyginus Chidalu Chukwuma, I lost a brother, Sunday Okoye. “We can end sickle cell if we show half as much commitment as Sir Paul Chukwuma has shown when he adopted the Sickle Cell Orphanage Home in Agulu and has since been a pillar of support to them, as testified by the Director of the Sickle Cell Home, Aisha Edwards Maduagwu”, the YPP Deputy Governorship candidate added.
