# The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Anambra State, Bishop Moses Ezedebego has expressed displeasure over the sufferings of the masses in Nigeria as a result of the high cost of living which he blamed on poor government economic policies.

Speaking in an interview at Amawbia, Bishop Ezedebego while condemning the sudden removal of the subsidy on petrol without putting necessary measures in place to cushion the effects on the masses, called on the federal government to look inwards and find a way of reducing the prices of commodities especially food items in addition to checking the arbitrary increase in electric tariff to save Nigerians from untold hardship and equally suggested the total reduction in cost of governance.

The Prelate who maintained that the petroleum subsidy removal is suppose to alleviate the hardship of the people in view of huge amount of money government saved from it, but regretted that instead it has continued to inflict more pains on the people and said that rather than planning on how to improve the living standards of the people politicians are seriously working for the 2027 general elections in the country.

# Anglican bishops in Anambra State has
commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s transformational governance, after touring his projects.

The delegation led by the Archbishop, Province Of The Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, toured the Solution Fun City, a recreational facility designed to promote tourism and economic growth in the region.

The bishops also visited the Alex Ekwueme Square, the Government House and Governor’s Lodge, where they engaged in discussions with Soludo about the role of faith-based organizations in community development.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed his gratitude for their continued partnership in fostering peace and development in Anambra.

# The Chairman of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has been honoured for her outstanding support and commitment in empowering Girl-Child.

The honour was conferred on the Mayor by Seraphine Outreach/Office Of the Girl-Child Ambassador.

Presenting the award, the group said, the decision to honour Hon. Obi stemmed from the impact of her programmes on the Girl-Child in Idemili South and urged others to emulate her.

Receiving the award, Hon. Obi appreciates the group for honouring her, stating that the recognition is a collective efforts of our people and the strides we are making towards uplifting and empowering Girl-Child.

# The Volunteers for Greater Aguata (VGA), Ekwulobia Ward one has paid courtesy visit to the MD/CEO of Jezco Group;Chief Dr. Sir J.J. Ezeokafor at his residence, where they unveiled their strategic programs and preparations ahead of the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.

Led by the coordinator;Comr. Onyemaobi Fidelis, the team eulogized the Mayor of Aguata ;Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike who is the brain behind VGA, outlined key initiatives, including massive voter mobilization and civic education campaigns across schools within the ward.

During the visit, the group expressed heartfelt appreciation to Chief Ezeokafor for being a true blessing to the community, applauding his continuous support to both VGA and APGA party at large as well his support to the local government. They commended his longstanding contributions toward youth empowerment, grassroots development, and good governance.

In response, Chief Ezeokafor reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and progress of Aguata, assuring the team of his support. He also promised to host the larger Ekwulobia in an interactive session with village heads and stakeholders as the election approaches.

The sweeping SAED initiative, according to the Director includes: Mandatory Financial Literacy Training: Covering essential budgeting, saving, and investing skills.

# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has presented certificates of recognition to four traditional rulers.

The Governor while speaking at the event held at the Light House in Awka on Wednesday, urged each of them to use this honour as a springboard for cultivating unity, advancing peace, and preserving harmony within their communities.

Soludo further exhorted them to govern in faithful adherence to their town constitutions and to remain the moral compass of their respective domains.

The traditional rulers who received the
certificates of recognition are;

HRM Engr. Sir Augustine Chinedum Emelobe (Ezeokpoko II of Oba), HRH Igwe Chinonso Ezeokafor (Ike Ikenga III), HRH Igwe Ifeanyi Okonkwo (Ichi) and HRH Igwe Sunday Emmanuel Udoji Ozoemena (Igwe Oranyelu I of Ifite Anam)

# Police Operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad has arrested two suspects belonging to a kidnapping gang.

The suspects were allegedly involved in a reported case of kidnapping, armed robbery and attempted murder where the victim escaped from a criminal den, in Umudioka, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The two male suspects, Onele Solomon a.k.a Federal and Simeon Chidera a.k.a Chaplet, both 23 years of age and other syndicate members specializes in luring their victims in the guise that they are selling land to them.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the two suspects on 31st May, 2025 abducted a victim, dispossessed him of his personal belongings and inflicted life-threatening injuries on him with a machete.

“They also kept the victim in one of their criminal dens while demanding ransom from his family members and friends.

“Fortunately for the victim, he escaped from their den and was debriefed accordingly by the Police Operatives’.

“The Operatives have activated onslaught operations given the confessions of the two suspects currently in custody for the arrest of other gang members and to dismantle the criminal network in the area”. Ikenga stated.

Igwe Nkwuda shared these thoughts while speaking with journalists at his royal residence in Awka, Anambra State.

He pointed out that the governor’s re-election efforts signify that there is no open seat, emphasizing the substantial support he has garnered from the residents of Anambra.
