# The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State has flag-off of the second quarter edition of its Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD).
The event took place at the Enugwu-Ukwu Civic Centre Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka LGA, bringing free medical services to hundreds of underserved residents.
Organized by NYSC Anambra State in collaboration with corps medical personnel and local stakeholders, the initiative provided a wide range of free health services including diagnosis, treatment, and administration of drugs.
# Anambra State Government through Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with Ministry Of Health and development partners, have flagged off second phase, National Immunisation Plus Days.
The flag off ceremony which took place at Primary Health Care, Isulo, in Orumba South Local Government Area, attracted nursing mothers in Orumba South council area where children under five years got
immunise against preventable diseases.
The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem while speaking, said that the five days exercise commenced in the three hundred and twenty six Primary Health Centres across all the wards in the state, schools, churches, strategic places and in all the places they can spot children under the age of five so as to ensure that diseases like polio and others are kept far away from Anambra State.
Pharm. Uchem noted that the vaccination is free of cost because Governor Chukwuma Soludo has paid for the immunisation, appreciating him for providing the enabling environment especially security and fundings for all the immunisation exercise happening in the state, urging parents to avail their children to be immunised to avoid had i known.
# Police Operatives attached to Uli Divisional Headquarters has exposed and arrested Mr. Muanaenye Chekwube Victor aged 24 years over a reported case of kidnapping.
The Case which is under investigation revealed that the suspect planned the kidnapping and collected a ransom in dollars equivalent of five million three hundred thousand Naira with his gang members before the victim was released.
The suspect during interrogation confessed to having planned the kidnapping plot by luring his friend to escort him to see another friend.
Victor and his criminal gang allegedly abducted their friend and to avoid suspicion pretended to have been kidnapped by his criminal gang.
Meanwhile, he is now cooperating with the police, providing information to help apprehend his accomplices and will face prosecution on the conclusion of the investigation.

# As the curtain falls on Ijele Sports Club’s inaugural season in the Nigerian National League (NNL), Chief Executive Officer Barr. Ferdinand Naza has expressed gratitude and optimism despite the team’s relegation to the Nationwide League One (NLO 1).
In a heartfelt end-of-season message, Naza acknowledged the challenges faced by the team, including logistical issues, officiating inconsistencies, and systemic problems within the league structure.
However, he highlighted moments of resilience and growth, citing a notable 2-0 victory over former champions Beyond Limit FC.

# Anambra State Government has taken note of a viral video purportedly showing men of the Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad drilling a group of alleged touts.
According to a release signed by Anambra Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the Government
while maintaining a firm stance against any form of touting in the State, the Government has called for a thorough investigation into the said video.
“In this era of AI and sophisticated disinformation, we urge members of the public to always verify media contents before spreading or holding same as true.
“The Soludo administration is committed to upholding the rights and dignity of every lawful citizen and resident of Anambra and will not allow any person or group to infringe, or inflict pains unduly upon lawful citizens.
“We assure the public that our commitment to maintaining law and order in the State will always be guided by the principles of justice, fairness, and respect for human rights’. Mefor stated
# The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Blord Group, Mr Linus Ifejika has lamented the influx of Substandard electrical and electronic products into Nigeria.
Ifejika said even in faraway China, manufacturers have identified Nigeria as one of the countries where they can dump their substandard products.
He stated this during the launch of a brand of electrical and electronic product named Blunt, under the Blord Group. He said he recently travelled to China while seeking partnership with Chinese companies for the product, but found that each company he visited always insisted that the quality of products meant for Nigerian markets were usually different from those of others countries.
# Ndi Amafor Nkpor, the largest village in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, has declared Professor Chukwuma Soludo the best governor in the history of Anambra State.
The Chairman of Amafor Nkpor, High Chief Emmanuel Idemili, in his speech, showered praises on Governor Soludo, calling him “a symbol of democracy and leadership.”
Chief Idemili who is also the Convener of Divine Mandate Actualization group, pledged total support for Soludo’s re-election bid in the November 8, 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election.
# The Chairman of Idemili South LGA, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has reaffirmed her administration commitment towards sustaining good governance and accelerating infrastructural development across communities within the council.
Obi stated this during the inspection of construction of 700 metres of St. Gerald Estate road, Oba, stating that her tenure as the Transition Chairman was marked by impactful projects and people oriented policies.
Th Mayor maintained that she will focus more on consolidating achievements and initiating legacy that would redefine the socio-economic landscape of the local government.
