Anambra School Sports Competition: Maduagwu Commends Agulu Pupils For Emerging Victorious

 

… Pledges Scholarship for 1st-class Pupils*

 

The National Coordinator, Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, APLSD, Mrs Aisha Edwards Maduagwu, has rewarded the pupils of Practicing School, Agulu, in Anaocha LGA, Anambra State.

Maduagwu commended the pupils for winning numerous medals and overall third position in the just concluded Anambra Solution School Sports Competition.

Mrs Maduagwu who is also the Director, Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home, Agulu, visited the pupils with special packages and tokens of appreciation for their teachers.

“These are not much, but they’re tokens of my heartfelt appreciation and encouragement for you, my children, for making us, your parents, proud.

“These tokens are also to tell you that we love and cherish you. Don’t be discouraged by this ugly situation that faces this environment.

“Bigger celebrations are coming. Please, make sure you study hard, and pay particular attention to your teachers.

‘For you people in primary six class, the First School Leaving Certificate Examinations you took yesterday, ensure you come out in distinction.

‘If you get distinction, be rest assured that you will get a deserving scholarship. Nobody will deny you that.

‘During your graduation, I will come here to celebrate you and give you biggest graduation gifts ever,’ Mrs Maduagwu pledged amid thunderous ovations from the excited pupils and their teachers.

Maduagwu thanked the teachers, for grooming the pupils in sports, intellectual, moral and otherwise.

In a chat with newsmen, Maduagwu appealed to media practitioners, public spirited individuals, particularly in Agulu community and Anaocha LGA, to encourage the pupils.

‘As I share this jubilation and celebration being a parent and member of PTA, may I urge you all in the spirit of solidarity to trend, appreciate and support their victory across Agulu, Anaocha LGA and Anambra State media platforms.

‘Our children deserve to be encouraged and celebrated despite the challenging situation they are facing in the school environment.

‘Indeed Practicing School Agulu Pupils are gifted and talented children; let’s celebrate our champions now.

‘I have done mine; our people in Agulu, and Anaocha LGA, especially the lawmaker representing these young gifted and talented children, in Anambra State House of Assembly, should come and do theirs,’ Maduagwu appealed.

Responding, the Headmistress of the School, Mrs Eucharia Egwuonwu, expressed gratitude to Mrs Maduagwu, for her kind gesture and continual concerns for the School.

Egwuonwu assured of the readiness of the staff and management of the School to continue to do their best for moral and academic excellence of the pupils.

ANN recalls that the pupils returned home with seven gold medals, one silver medal, five bronze medals, and a cash reward of N200,000 for coming overall third position.
