Omah Lay’s Manager Muyiwa Awoniyi Quits — Controversy Erupts After Kaestyle’s Claims

Veteran talent manager and BSB Management Agency founder Muyiwa Awoniyi has officially ended his professional relationship with Afrobeats superstar Omah Lay, real name Stanley Omah Didia . On his X (formerly Twitter), Awoniyi wrote:
“With love and respect, I am no longer managing @Omah_Lay. That’s my brother and I wish him all the best in his endeavours for life!”
While many saw the split as cordial, drama quickly followed. Omah Lay’s label mate Kaestyle claimed that Awoniyi was actually sacked, tweeting:
“Dem sack you, you say I’m no longer… lol always quick to go on social media.”
In response, Awoniyi pushed back on Kaestyle’s assertion, revealing a charged backstory:
“I agreed to manage Omah to get him out of the very slave deal that you signed. Now he is out, I also am out. You on the other hand are a slave.”
Awoniyi further described his exit not as a simple parting but as an act of liberation—as he stepped away after freeing the singer from an unfavorable contract with KeyQaad .
Omah Lay publicly expressed his gratitude and respect, calling Awoniyi “the most intelligent person I’ve met so far in the game.” Awoniyi replied, “Love you my brother. Clarity of mind is on the way now finally!”
Awoniyi, respected for managing stars like Tems, Nonso Amadi and others via BSB Management, has avoided naming negative parties but left no doubt about a deeper narrative behind the split .
What It Means for Omah Lay
If Awoniyi is correct, Omah Lay may now be independent, potentially charting his own path after escaping the “slave deal.”
Kaestyle’s remarks hint at possible tensions within the KeyQaad camp.
A shift like this may impact industry dynamics, with Omah Lay perhaps launching his own imprint or exploring partnerships anew.
