Youths Destroy Tinubu’s 2027 Billboards in Ondo State

A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused unidentified persons of destroying billboards mounted in Akure, Ondo state, to promote the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) said the incident came amid an ongoing rift between independent campaign groups for Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
GMT had recently opposed Aiyedatiwa’s directive that all support groups must operate under a single platform called “Ondo for Tinubu 2027.”
Oyewamide Ojo, director of media and publicity for GMT, described the removal of the billboards as “deliberate and malicious.”
His words: “The signposts, strategically installed on streetlights along the Airport Road to Oba-Ile corridor, have been forcefully and cowardly taken down by faceless individuals.
“GMT views this act of vandalism as an assault on democracy, a slap in the face of free speech and a deliberate attempt to erase the truth of the progress that Nigeria is currently experiencing under Tinubu.”
