Renowned Nigerian entertainer and social activist Charly Boy, popularly known as Area Fada, has delivered a stark warning to politicians contemplating electoral manipulation in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an appearance on 90MinutesAfrica with Rudolf Okonkwo, Charly Boy declared that the next nationwide poll would be a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s democratic trajectory. He bluntly stated:
“The 2027 election will be a defining moment for Nigeria. Anybody that plans to rig should be ready to die. It is rig and die… By that time, our eye go clear well well.”
Emphasizing the power of the collective vote, he added:
“The solution to bad governance in Nigeria can only come when our votes begin to count. So, our concern right now should be how our votes would count in 2027.”
Charly Boy also addressed recent local controversies, describing the Lagos State government’s decision to rename the “Charly Boy Bus Stop” in Bariga as “outright silly and a bloody distraction.” He stressed that his primary concern remains remedying the suffering of millions of hungry Nigerians.
