Soludo Urges Anambra Corps Members To Embrace Unity

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on Anambra Corps members to look beyond colourful displays of tradition and embrace the deeper values of mutual respect, tolerance, and collaboration as guiding principles for nation-building.

Soludo, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Engr. Dr. Martin Agbili, gave the charge on Saturday, August 16, 2025, during the 2025 Batch B, Stream one Inter-Platoon Cultural Carnival held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu.
The Governor reminded the young Nigerians that while dances, attire, and cuisines are beautiful expressions of identity, their real strength lies in the unity they foster.
“Our diversity is not our weakness; it is the strength that will build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said, stressing the Soludo administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and national integration.
Earlier in her address, the State Coordinator of NYSC Anambra, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, described the carnival as “a living celebration of Nigeria’s soul,” adding that every performance proved that Nigeria’s strength lies in its cultural diversity.
Mrs. Ojisua applauded Corps members for their creativity and energy, as well as the Carnival Committee for delivering a memorable festival.
Chairman of the Carnival Committee, Mr. Benson Ifeanyi Obi, also welcomed participants, acknowledging the support of the NYSC management, traditional rulers, and camp officials. He singled out HRM Igwe Engr. Joel Egwuonwu, Ezeudo II of Umuawulu, for his consistent support and presence at the event.
The carnival featured colourful cultural performances from all ten platoons, alongside entertaining side attractions such as “Catching the Train,” sack race, and filling-the-can.
At the end of the day, Platoon 8 won the most decorated platoon , followed by Platoon 5 which was awarded the best presentation prize , and Platoon 10 which was given the best King and Queen Awarding, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
The event attracted dignitaries, community leaders, and camp officials, who all praised the Corps members for upholding the spirit of unity and cultural pride.
The carnival ended on a high note with a renewed call for young Nigerians to carry forward the lessons of tolerance, respect, and togetherness beyond the orientation camp.
