The Chairman Idemili South local government area, Dr. (Mrs) Amaka Obi has condemn the brutal attack on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Oba.
The Mayor while reacting on the viral video of the incident stated that no woman should ever be subjected to such inhumane treatment under any guise.
“It is with deep concern that I condemn in strong terms the abuse and humiliation meted on a serving female corps member in Oba, Idemili South LGA by men of the Anambra State security outfit, Agunaechemba.
“Such a degrading act against a young lady who is serving her fatherland is not only unjustifiable but also a dent in the values of respect, dignity, and protection that security agencies are expected to uphold. No woman, let alone a corps member, should ever be subjected to such inhumane treatment under any guise.
“Where there is any infraction or misunderstanding, there are lawful and civilized procedures to follow.
“The Agunaechemba outfit and all other security formations must adopt lawful, humane, and respectful approaches in carrying out their duties to ensure that incidents like this never repeat themselves.
“I commend the state government for the measures already taken to ensure adequate sanction for the security personnel, justice for the young lady, and to prevent such from happening again’. Obi maintained.
