Chioma Rowland Adeleke, wife of music star Davido, has penned an emotional tribute to her late son, Ifeanyi, while reflecting on her wedding day.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Chioma shared a touching photo of herself holding her bridal bouquet, which was adorned with a locket carrying her son’s picture.
She wrote:
“My best friend walked me into forever…. Ify, you’re on my mind every day and you live in my heart. Always and forever. Love, mummy.”
The post, which has since attracted massive reactions online, shows Chioma’s way of keeping her son’s memory alive during one of the most significant moments of her life.
Davido and Chioma tied the knot recently in a highly celebrated ceremony attended by top dignitaries, celebrities, and family members.
Their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, tragically passed away in October 2022, an incident that left the family and fans across the world in grief.
Chioma’s tribute has drawn sympathy and admiration, with many commending her strength and the symbolic way she chose to honor her son’s memory on her big day.
Davido, who also honoured Ifeanyi at their wedding by wearing cufflinks engraved with his son’s image, responded to her post with the words, “Till Infinity.”
Ifeanyi, the couple’s first child together, passed away at three years old after drowning in a swimming pool at the family’s Banana Island residence in Lagos. The tragedy shocked fans across Nigeria and beyond, sparking an outpouring of sympathy for the celebrity couple.
Davido and Chioma sealed their love story with an extravagant white wedding in Miami on August 10, 2025, the final chapter of three ceremonies following their court marriage in March 2023 and traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024.
