Abuja touts chase couple to death

Police authorities in Abuja have identified the couple killed in a tragic accident along Nnamdi Azikwe Way, Mabushi, Abuja, as Emeka Ehekweme and his wife.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when the couple’s vehicle, a grey Toyota Highlander, was attacked by three hoodlums near Berger Junction, Utako.
The suspects forcefully entered the vehicle, leading to a struggle for control of the steering, which caused the vehicle to lose control, strike a parked Mazda, and somersault into a bridge pillar.
The attack by the hoodlums, also known as “Agberos,” led to the struggle for control of the vehicle, resulting in the fatal crash.
Emeka Ehekweme, his wife, and two of the assailants were confirmed dead on arrival at the National Hospital. A third suspect is receiving treatment.
The driver of the parked Mazda, Suleman Mohammed, sustained no life-threatening injuries.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The FCT Police Command extended condolences to the bereaved families and assured the public of a thorough probe.
Passersby who rushed to assist the victims reportedly lynched one of the assailants at the scene, angered by the attack.
