Delta ADC inaugurates 25 LGA coalition committees ahead of 2027 DDM News

(DDM) – The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has intensified its grassroots mobilization strategy with the official inauguration of coalition committees across all 25 local government areas of Delta State.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the move signals the party’s readiness to strengthen its base ahead of the 2027 general elections, positioning itself as a viable alternative in the state’s evolving political landscape.

The inauguration ceremonies, which took place simultaneously in Asaba, Ughelli, and Warri, drew large numbers of party stakeholders, members, and community representatives.

Discipline and loyalty emphasized

ADC State Chairman, Engr. Austine Okolie, delivered a strong message to the newly inaugurated committees, charging members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and maintain strict loyalty to the party’s ideals.

Okolie warned against anti-party activities, stressing that opportunities within the ADC will be earned through discipline, consistency, and effective grassroots engagement.

He noted that the party’s growth depends on collective sacrifice and respect for organizational hierarchy.

“Our strength lies in the people, and the people are our power,” Okolie declared. “Positions will not be handed out for patronage. They must be earned through dedication, commitment, and service at the grassroots.”

Building for political transformation

According to TVM Correspondent, the ADC leadership underscored that the coalition committees are not just political structures but engines for social and political transformation.

The party highlighted its vision of a new Nigeria anchored on trust, inclusivity, accountability, and development-driven politics.

This vision, they argued, contrasts sharply with the dominance of traditional political parties accused of corruption, vote-buying, and neglect of citizens’ welfare.

The event climaxed with unity songs, chants of solidarity, and a reaffirmation of the ADC’s call for a transformative Nigeria.

Background: ADC’s rise in Delta politics

The ADC has gradually carved a niche as a reformist party in Nigeria’s multi-party democracy.

In Delta State, it has become particularly vocal about electoral reforms, youth inclusion, and grassroots participation in governance.

While the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) dominate the state’s political terrain, ADC leaders believe their disciplined structures and coalition-driven politics can create meaningful competition by 2027.

Political analysts note that the 2027 elections will test ADC’s ability to translate its organizational structures into real electoral strength.

Looking forward

The newly inaugurated coalition committees are expected to begin immediate sensitization programs across wards and polling units, with a focus on voter education and community mobilization.

ADC leaders emphasized that unity and focus would determine how far the party can go in dislodging entrenched political interests in Delta State.
