BREAKING: DDM Academy launches Cohort 6 with early bird discount and housing support

(DDM) – Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) Academy has officially announced the commencement of its sixth cohort, beginning on September 15, 2025.

DDM corespondent gathered that the programme will run for three months and will offer both online and onsite training opportunities.

The announcement was made by the Academy Administrator, Kevin Jakpor, who outlined the structure, fees, and welfare packages designed to support students.

He revealed that the academy has introduced an Early Bird Offer, which allows participants to register with a discounted fee of ₦75,000 if payment is made before September 15.

After this date, the regular training fee of ₦90,000 will apply to all students.

The institution also provided a flexible installment plan, enabling trainees to pay ₦30,000 monthly across the three-month period.

Jakpor further disclosed that accommodation is available for onsite trainees at ₦50,000, covering the full duration from September 15 to December 15.

He urged those intending to stay at the academy to arrive by September 14, a day before classes begin, to ensure a smooth start.

The administrator emphasised that the academy is committed to building a generation of highly skilled digital professionals across Nigeria and beyond.

According to him, DDM Academy’s programmes are designed to combine intensive practical learning with transformative mentorship.

The announcement included bank details for payment, with prospective students advised to confirm their registration by sending receipts via WhatsApp or email.

The academy operates from its training hub in Mgbakwu, Awka North, Anambra State, and also runs virtual classes through Zoom and Google Meet.

Founded as the training wing of Diaspora Digital Media, the academy has steadily built a reputation for offering affordable and industry-driven courses in communication, IT, and media.

Since its establishment, the institution has produced several cohorts of graduates who have transitioned into professional careers in journalism, digital marketing, broadcasting, and creative media.

Observers note that DDM Academy has become a vital educational platform, especially at a time when Nigeria’s digital economy is expanding rapidly.

The academy was set up to address the widening skills gap in media and technology training, particularly in underserved communities.

Its focus on affordability and flexible learning options has made it an attractive choice for students across the South-East and other regions.

Past cohorts have been praised for their emphasis on hands-on training, real-time project work, and exposure to industry-standard tools.

Graduates have also benefited from mentorship programmes, internship opportunities, and connections to professional networks.

By offering accommodation for the first time, Cohort 6 aims to create a more immersive learning environment for those attending onsite.

The institution says this initiative will provide students with stability, allowing them to focus on learning without the burden of daily travel.

Jakpor stressed that the vision of DDM Academy is to empower young people with the skills and confidence to thrive in the fast-changing digital space.

He described the Cohort 6 programme as a unique opportunity for participants to join a community of learners and innovators dedicated to growth.

He further noted that the Civil Service Week Gala-style orientation planned for incoming trainees will mark a new tradition of celebrating student commitment and discipline.

Education analysts have observed that the academy’s model reflects a growing trend in Nigeria, where private institutions are filling the gaps left by struggling public schools.

The federal government has consistently emphasised the importance of digital literacy in its economic recovery plans, but many young Nigerians still lack affordable access to structured training.

Institutions like DDM Academy have emerged to bridge that gap by combining local expertise with global digital standards.

As applications continue ahead of the September 15 start date, the academy has assured prospective students of a rewarding and transformative journey.

The Cohort 6 programme, according to organisers, will further strengthen the academy’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing training centres in Nigeria’s digital education space.
