Pakistani Taliban Kill 12 Soldiers in Deadly Ambush

At least 12 soldiers lost their lives on Saturday, September 13, when the Pakistani Taliban launched a deadly ambush in northwest Pakistan.
According to local officials, the attack happened around 4:00 am in Faqir Sarai, Upper South Waziristan. A military convoy was moving through the area when armed men opened fire from both sides using heavy weapons.
A government source confirmed the death toll and revealed that the attackers also seized weapons from the convoy.
A security officer stationed nearby backed up the account, saying the ambush was swift and brutal.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the strike.
The attack is the latest in a wave of violence that has plagued the region.
South Waziristan remains a hotbed of militancy despite years of military operations to curb extremist groups.
The Pakistani Taliban have stepped up their assaults on security forces in recent months, sparking renewed fears about the fragile stability of the northwest.
