JUST IN: Tinubu Lands in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after cutting short his work vacation ahead of schedule.

The President landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Top government officials, including senior aides, were on ground to receive him.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, had earlier announced Tinubu’s return.

He said the President would resume official duties immediately upon arrival.

Tinubu had departed Nigeria on September 4, 2025, for France to observe part of his annual holiday.

The trip was initially planned to last ten working days between France and the United Kingdom.

During his stay in France, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

Both leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to strengthen ties.

They agreed to deepen the Nigeria-France partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability.

Tinubu’s decision to cut short his vacation has sparked public interest, especially as the country continues to grapple with security and economic challenges.

Many observers expect his early return to signal renewed focus on addressing pressing national issues.
