Man Utd fans brutally chant betrayal at Garnacho return

(DDM) – Manchester United fans turned Old Trafford into a cauldron of hostility as Alejandro Garnacho returned with Chelsea in Saturday’s 2-1 clash.

DDM gathered that the Argentine winger, once hailed as United’s future, was met with boos and savage chants from the stands.

Supporters adapted a notorious Carlos Tevez chant, accusing Garnacho of abandoning the club for money and trophies he would never win again.

The atmosphere grew heated even though Garnacho never stepped onto the pitch.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca left him on the bench for the entire encounter, but that did not shield him from fan fury.

The match itself began with drama as Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was sent off just five minutes in for a reckless challenge on Bryan Mbeumo.

United quickly capitalized.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring before Casemiro doubled the lead, sending Old Trafford into a frenzy.

However, the Brazilian’s own dismissal before halftime gave Chelsea hope of a comeback.

Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back in the second half, but United held on for victory.

The spotlight, however, remained on Garnacho’s fractured relationship with the Red Devils’ faithful.

Once adored as a fearless winger, his sudden summer exit to Chelsea left deep wounds among United fans.

Manager Ruben Amorim sanctioned the transfer, suggesting he was comfortable letting Garnacho leave, but supporters saw it differently.

To them, it was betrayal.

The reworked chants reflected bitterness, painting him as a player who traded loyalty for a paycheck.

This was not the first time Old Trafford crowds recycled such venom.

Carlos Tevez experienced the same treatment in 2009 after his switch to Manchester City.

The chants for Garnacho carried the same sting, branding him as a deserter unworthy of their respect.

Football analysts told DDM that Garnacho’s case shows how supporters rarely forgive departures they perceive as disloyal.

Chelsea may view his signing as strategic, but at Old Trafford, his name now provokes anger, not admiration.

The jeers on Saturday underline the emotional depth of football rivalries, where memories of betrayal often outlast goals and trophies.

For Garnacho, the road back to Manchester United’s heart looks closed.

And with every chant echoing through the Theatre of Dreams, the message was clear: Old Trafford does not forgive.
