On Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, participated in the Body of Benchers’ procession during the Call to Bar ceremony in Abuja, where his son, Jordan, was formally admitted to the Nigerian Bar.
Accompanied by his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike, the family celebrated the significant milestone.
The development was confirmed by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, who shared photos and videos of the event on his official X account.
“Happy Dad and Mum. FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike, with their son, Jordan, who is to be called to Bar today,” Olayinka wrote, alongside videos of the minister participating in the ceremonial procession.
The Call to Bar ceremony, organized by the Body of Benchers, is a statutory event that formally inducts successful law graduates into the legal profession in Nigeria.
This year’s ceremony saw thousands of candidates from the Nigerian Law School admitted as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
