According to security analyst Zagozola Makama, Maidawa and some gang members were taken out in a sting operation along the Kwara-Kogi boundary over the weekend.
The operation follows a surge in kidnappings in the region, prompting the state government to direct security agencies to take decisive action.
Authorities have pledged to sustain phased operations across several local government areas to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further abductions.
The affected areas include Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Edu, and Patigi LGAs.
The security agencies remain committed to ensuring the safety of residents and protecting the region from criminal activities.
