Passionate plea to all men, women of goodwill to help Amangwu Ohafia stand again

Recall that between 2021 to sometime in 2023, the Amangwu ancient community in Ohafia LGA was a war zone with much violence visited on the community by some misguided youths led by the nose by some Elders in brazen acts of impunity resulting in the breakdown of law and order and costing the community great loss in human lives and property.
Amangwu, a hitherto thriving community was turned into a ghost town by these misguided gangs who seized ancestral homelands, terrorized families, and using Amangwu as operational hideouts for their criminal and bloody activities.
The images of empty markets, deserted schools, burnt and abandoned homes, captured agonized faces of refugees fleeing from Amangwu filled the print media and internet.
The community bled and is still bleeding, any voice of reason that called for reasonable intercession to end the stand off was silenced.
The community after having taken stock of the damage 4 years on have learnt their lessons and are also ready to move on. Amangwu is now prepared to use the lessons learnt as guidance towards a better future for everyone.
Amangwu as a community has been cut off from other parts of Ohafia and living in isolation since 4 years while development, trade and commerce also are being denied this important Ohafia community. Something urgently needs to be done to reverse this ugly self imposed situation.
In this regard, the, elders of the community, youths, women, and other men and women of goodwill in the community, various stakeholders in the community have come together in a single resolve to bring back peace to the community and begin the process of rebuilding the self inflicted ruins caused impunity and intolerance.
The courage of “nde Amangwu” as a mythical community no doubt should be a basis for all Ohafia Udumaeze to blow a trumpet of battle to rescue one of our own. Amangwu once overrun and silenced is soon to rise again. once again, Amangwu people are saying, “we cannot walk this talk alone without the support of men and women of goodwill standing up for us”. May Amangwu community not fall into this type of pit again but experience lasting peace and security in Jesus Mighty Name.
The community have slated December, the 30th for a fundraising event where Important personalities, men and women of goodwill, members of the Diaspora community, friends of Amangwu greats, and other well meaning individuals are to grace the occasion to help lift this important border town back up. “Onuru ube nwanne agbala oso”.
Concerned Amangwu Ohafia Stakeholders.
