# As the November 8th 2025 governorship election draws near, Anambra drivers says they will re-elect Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
The transporters in one voice endorsed Soludo at a rally held at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, they maintain that the Governor has transformed the transport system through building quality roads and reduction of tax.
In their seperate speeches, representatives of tipper drivers, heavy duty, keke drivers, bus drivers, wheel barrow pushers, okada riders, luxurious bus drivers, airline operators, maritime workere union (boot operators) and airport operators commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making Anambra roads motorable.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike, said the rally was organized to show support for Governor Soludo’s re-election, acknowledging his achievements in the transport sector.
# The NYSC Anambra State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua has commended the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream two Corps Members for their discipline, commitment, and active participation throughout the three-week intensive orientation exercise
Ojisua in her remark at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South LGA, as the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course officially came to a close on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, described the batch as “energetic, united, and purpose-driven,” noting that they had demonstrated the true spirit of the NYSC through teamwork, patriotism, and resilience.
She urged the Corps Members to uphold the ideals of the Scheme as they proceed to their places of primary assignment across the state, charging them to be worthy ambassadors of the NYSC by serving with diligence, humility, and integrity.
The State Coordinator expressed appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for his continuous support to the Scheme, as well as to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, for his inspiring visit to the camp.
# The Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Basil Ekwunife, has been nominated as the Anambra Community Youth Mega Star Role Model by the Anambra State Town Unions Council (Youth Wing), a recognition that celebrates outstanding contributions to youth development, leadership, and service to humanity.
The letter of nomination which was signed by the leadership of Anambra State Community Youth Leaders from the Anambra North Senatorial Zone, noted that Fr. Ekwunife’s selection followed a rigorous voting process among youth representatives from 51 communities in Anambra North.
Ekwunife’s emergence, according to the organizers, is a demonstration of his “accomplishments in the service of God, community, and humanity,” particularly his efforts toward human capital development and youth empowerment.
Fr. Ekwunife, a respected Catholic priest, scholar, and administrator, currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Archdiocese of Onitsha. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of numerous educational, pastoral, and community initiatives across the Archdiocese. His commitment to raising a generation of disciplined, intellectually grounded, and morally upright youths has earned him recognition both within and beyond the Church.
# Cordinator, Anambra drivers forum. Comrade Osita Obi has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s sweeping reforms that have restored order, dignity, and accountability in the state’s transport sector.
Speaking at a rally held at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, Obi an activist, described the governor as a “courageous, visionary, and people-centered reformer” whose leadership had transformed the transport system in Anambra.
Obi highlighted the digital unified ticketing system introduced by the administration, which he said has brought transparency and sanity to revenue collection, allowing drivers to operate with dignity and without fear.
# Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike, the lawmaker representing Nnewi North in Anambra state House of Assembly has condemned the continued incarceration of Akwa Okuko, the celebrity dibia from Oba by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, stating that since his detention, the security of the state is yet to improve.
Hon Ikediorji while speaking in his office recently, accused the governor of other infractions.
The lawmaker maintained that the state is not in a safe hand under Prof Soludo and asked ndi Anambra to do the needful on November 8th.
# It was a beehive of activities at Emmaus House Awka as members of Women of Patience and Help Organization marked the thirteenth anniversary of the organization in a colorful style.
The women who attended the celebration adorned in different beautiful attires used the occasion to chart a way forward on the roles of women in the nation building and raising the bar of morality in the society.
Women of Patience and Help Organization is a non governmental organization established with the core obligations of empowering women, providing access to education, training and opportunities to the less privileged, providing career guidance and counseling to young people and to support the motherless babies’ homes.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, who spoke through the Director of Industry, Mrs Jane Ebo-Nwosu, praised the organization for impacting the lives of many women through business credit schemes and said their mission fits well into the state government’s emphasis on creating jobs and empowering the most vulnerable in the society.

# The Peace and Unity Plastic Waste Recyclers Association has formally supported Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for a second term in office.
The Association, a key stakeholder in Anambra State’s waste management and recycling industry, in their rally of endorsement, expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the Governor for his forward-thinking policies on waste recycling, circular economy, and environmental sustainability that have directly empowered the recyclers, improved livelihood, and encouraged business undertakings in the whole state.
Speaking on the occasion, the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Ukwuegbu Chigozie lauded Governor Soludo for creating a conducive business environment that enables recyclers and waste managers to thrive.
The Chairman maintained that with promotion of waste management, recycling, and plastic recovery, some of its members had recorded tangible economic gains while creating a positive impact towards environmental preservation.
# The Anambra State House of Assembly has applauding Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the successful reconstruction of roads in Inland Town, Onitsha, with a view to enhancing infrastructural renewal and inclusive urban development.
The House passed the resolution following a motion sponsored by the member representing Onitsha North one Constituency, Hon. Mimi Azikiwe during plenary in Awka.
In her submission, Hon. Azikiwe described the reconstruction as a historic intervention, noting that for decades, the inland communities, the ancient heartland of Onitsha’s cultural heritage had suffered severe infrastructural decay.
The lawmaker lamented that the people had long endured dilapidated and impassable roads which crippled commerce, obstructed access, and diminished quality of life.
According to Azikiwe, successive administrations, despite various initiatives, had often focused development efforts on metropolitan areas, leaving indigenous settlements marginalized in the distribution of public infrastructure.
She however praised Governor Soludo for breaking the cycle of neglect through visionary leadership and decisive action, completing key road projects that have now restored mobility, economic vitality, and public trust in government.
