Anambra FA Cup: Obosi United Defeat Rangels On Penalties


Obosi United have sealed their place in the quarter finals of the 2025 NEROS/ANSFA President Federation Cup following a 4-3 penalty kicks win over Rangels FA on Saturday at The Awka City Stadium.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the thrilling contest ended 2-2 draw at regulation time with Obosi United going ahead to win 4-3 from the spot kicks that followed to break the deadlock.

Obosi United also known as ‘The Blues’ will now meet NNL side, Edel FC in the quarter finals.

Earlier at same venue, Olive Charles Academy shocked Bishop Owen Nwokolo Football Academy, BONFA, 2-0 with Uchenna Nwokolo converting a second half penalty to put the winners in front.

Victor Marcel’s sumptuous finish doubled the advantage for Olive Charles, thus, putting the game beyond the redemption of BONFA.

Solution FC are the defending champions of the competition which has a winning prize of N2m, N1m and N500, 000 for the overall winners, runners-up and third place winners.

ANN gathered that the pharmaceutical giants has continued to sponsor the competition since the past 18 years.
