A Nigerian man has openly declared that he would always choose his girlfriend over his mother, citing the harsh treatment he received from his mother when he was financially unstable.
In a post shared on his TikTok page, the young man revealed that his mother constantly showed preference for his younger brother simply because the brother was financially better off, while he struggled to make ends meet.
According to him, his mother’s behavior made him feel worthless, as she regularly shouted at him whenever he had disagreements with his younger brother.
He also recounted how she nearly chased him out of the house due to his financial struggles.
During this difficult period, he said it was his girlfriend who stood by him – sending him money, data, and offering him emotional support.
This, he explained, is why he would always choose his girlfriend over his mother.

“I’ll always choose my girlfriend over my mother. My mother cannot come to my house and chase my girl away – never. If she tries it, she’ll leave, not my girlfriend.”
“My mother chose my younger brother over me just because he had money. The way she treated him made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough.”
