Troops neutralize bandits in Zamfara

On Match 11, Operation Fansan Yanma troops decisively repelled bandits attacking Zamfara’s Mada town, inflicting severe losses through swift counteroperations.

Transitioning to defense, Nigerian Army forces and Askarawa militia mobilized rapidly, overpowering attackers with coordinated firepower and strategic maneuvers.

Despite the bandits’ initial numerical advantage, security forces outmatched them, safeguarding civilians while restoring order decisively.

The joint security team, comprising Nigerian Army personnel and the government-backed militia group known as Askarawa, engaged the assailants in a fierce gun battle.

According to sources, the bandits arrived in large numbers, attempting to overrun the town. However, they were met with swift and superior firepower from the security forces.

Several bandits were neutralized during the confrontation, while others fled into the surrounding forest with gunshot wounds.

“I can confirm that several of the bandits were killed with no casualties on our gallant troops,” a source close to the operation stated.

In the aftermath of the encounter, troops pursued the fleeing attackers, eliminating more of them as they attempted to regroup.

Weapons and motorcycles were recovered from the scene, further crippling the operational capabilities of the attackers.

Authorities have confirmed that calm has been restored in Mada town following the operation.

Additional troops have been deployed to the area to reinforce security and prevent any potential retaliatory attacks.

The successful operation is being hailed as a significant victory in the ongoing fight against banditry in Zamfara State, a region that has faced persistent security challenges in recent years.
