In a recent reflection, football legend Jay Jay Okocha shared a humorous encounter with a journalist that nearly left him embarrassed but ultimately turned in his favor.
Okocha, who had already played in the German and French leagues before moving to an English club in the early 2000s, admitted that his English was not perfect at the time due to his educational background. He explained, “I’m not the type who believes in speaking big English. When the match starts, I’ll show you my skills on the pitch, no matter how much English you speak.”
Recalling an unforgettable moment, Okocha described scoring a hat-trick in one game. After the match, a journalist, holding a microphone and a camera, rushed to him with excitement. “Jay Jay, your goal was incredible! It shocked everyone in the arena. Can you tell us how you managed to take that shot from such an impossible angle?” the journalist asked.
