Academic Frontiers Initiative Mobilizes Support For Soludo’s Re-election

As the 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial election draws nearer, the Academic Frontiers Initiative (AFI) has thrown its weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, calling on staff and students of tertiary institutions across the state to rally support for what it described as the “Project Consolidation in Solution.”
In a statement signed by the National President of AFI, Prof. Chinedu Onyeizugbe and Secretary, Mr. Tevin Anyali, the organization reiterated its mission of promoting good governance and civic accountability throughout Nigeria. It said after evaluating the progress made so far under the Soludo-led administration, the AFI Anambra State Chapter is convinced that continuity remains key to sustainable development.
“The Academic Frontiers Initiative is a registered body composed of staff in both teaching and non-teaching positions across Nigerian tertiary institutions,” the statement read. “In Anambra State, we have watched with keen interest the unprecedented developmental strides across various sectors under Prof. Soludo. We believe the time to consolidate is now.”
AFI noted that it has started a structured engagements with coordinators across universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education in the state to enrich and promote issue-based discussions around the governor’s Solution Agenda. Combined, these institutions have an estimated 14,000 staff and 100,000 students.
The body also clarified that membership is open strictly to registered voters in Anambra State, as defined by INEC voter records, and urged interested academic, administrative staff and students who meet the criteria to identify with the group.
According to AFI, the upcoming election presents a critical opportunity for academics to participate constructively in shaping Anambra’s governance future by backing a candidate whose policies have impacted education, technology, security, and infrastructure.
The group expressed confidence that with sustained grassroots mobilization and informed participation, the Project Consolidation in Solution will gain even broader momentum across the state’s higher institutions.
