Aguata Mayor Boosts Sports In Anambra, Supports Solution FC With Strong Commitment

The Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, has thrown his full weight behind Nigeria National League (NNL), Solution Football Club.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Dr. Ofobuike who is also Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen in Anambra State, gave this support during a strategic partnership and familiarization visit by the Solution FC management team, led by Team Manager Mr. Austin Okoye, as the club intensifies preparations for the 2025/2026 NNL season set to kick off in September 2025.

Dr. Ofobuike, a firm believer in grassroots talent discovery, highlighted his ongoing efforts in sports development within Aguata.

In partnership with Lily Legends Sports Academy, Lagos, Ofobuike recently organized a scouting programme for young female footballers across communities in Aguata. Selected players from this programme will be sponsored to join the academy in Lagos for proper football development.

As a sign of appreciation, the Solution FC delegation presented branded sports kits to the Mayor, who responded with both financial and moral support affirming his commitment to Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s sports-driven youth empowerment agenda.

In his remark, Team Manager Mr. Austin Okoye commended the mayor’s gesture, describing it as a strong step toward building a sustainable fan base and support system for the team. He emphasized that the club was established by the governor not only to represent Anambra in national competitions but also to promote sports as a vehicle for youth engagement and state pride.

The visit was approved and supported by the Anambra State Sports Development Commission, led by Chairman Mr. Patrick Estate Onyedum, whose office has continued to provide essential backing for Solution FC’s outreach programmes.

With Solution FC set to resume league action in September, the management is calling on all 21 local government chairmen to take a cue from Dr. Ofobuike by supporting the team financially, logistically, and in fan mobilization as a way of boosting Anambra’s presence on the national football map.

The visit focused on mobilizing grassroots support across all 21 LGAs in Anambra State.
