Amad Diallo suffers embarrassing moment while trying to defend Man Utd

Injured Manchester United winger Amad Diallo had good intentions, but ended up feeling blushed after falling victim to a mere joke.

The Ivorian was the club’s most impactful player in the final third over the past few months, delivering the goods on a constant basis, especially against Manchester City and Liverpool. However, an injury suffered in February halted his momentum, perhaps giving him more time to scroll online.

However, this might not necessarily be a good thing, as the young player ended up walking himself into an embarrassing moment after reading a parody interview with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Amad didn’t realise the quotes were invented, so he bought into the fake quotes which read: “I’m pretty sure I’ve scored more than all of them,” in a reference to Manchester United strikers.

The Ivorian thus decided to rise to his teammates’ defence, posting a picture of Joshua Zirkzee celebrating after scoring the final spot-kick that eliminated Arsenal from the FA Cup earlier this season while waving for Arsenal fans.

As The Mirror explains, Man Utd supporters quickly noticed the player’s blunder, jumping to explain the quotes he was replying weren’t real.

“You’ve been trolled, my son.” said one user in the comment section, while another added, “It isn’t a real quote, Gabriel didn’t say that lol”. A third added: “Our star player is falling for fake quotes from trollfootball.”

Needless to say, Arsenal fans were delighted by the whole episode. “Sat in 14th, closer to relegation zone than Arsenal. While their players are more focused on point scoring over fake quotes,” one Gunner supporter commented, while another added: “it’s even funnier that he’s responded to a page that’s called troll football AND it’s a fake quote.”

In the ended, the contest ended in a 1-1 draw with Declan Rice responding to Bruno Fernandes’ astonishing freekick.
