Amorim issues updates on Dalot, Yoro & De Ligt ahead of UEL final

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim shared the latest updates on some of his injured stars one week ahead of the Europa League final.

On Friday evening, the Red Devils will take on Chelsea in the penultimate round of the Premier League. But with this fixture being merely folkloric for Amorim’s men, everyone at the club has already turned their attention to next Wednesday’s European final against Spurs which will be held in Bilbao.

Unfortunately for the Portuguese manager, the injuries have been piling up as of late, so several important players could skip the grand finale.

Nevertheless, Amorim still has hope of regaining the services of his compatriot and ally Diogo Dalot who is pushing hard to make a timely recovery.

Even though the manager is keen to have the wingback back in the fold, he insists no risks will be taken.

“Dalot is trying really bad. I don’t want to risk Dalot, when you start getting one injury, a second injury is a big thing,” explained the Man Utd manager during his press conference (via Manchester Evening News).

“We cannot have these kind of problems in our squad. He’s working really hard to get in the final.

The 26-year-old wingback has been omnipresent in the starting lineup this season prior to his injury, so his return would be a major boost for Amorim.

Leny Yoro & Matthijs de Ligt also pushing for return

The three-man backline remains a big dilemma for the 40-year-old, with several centre-backs dealing with injuries.

However, there could be some positive news for the Red Devils as Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are also hoping to regain their fitness ahead of the final.

“I don’t know if they’re going to be available, we’ll try to push, it’s a final, all the players want to play really bad. I don’t think they will not go to Chelsea but we’ll have some of them for the final.”

Amorim is also expected to drop several regular starters on Friday in order to avoid fresh injuries, as any knock, however slight, would rule the player out of the Europa League final.
