An Appeal to Ohaneze Ndígbo Delegates on the Upcoming Ohaneze Ndígbo Presidential Election
An Appeal to Ohaneze Ndígbo Delegates on the Upcoming Ohaneze Ndígbo Presidential Election
As we approach the January election for the Ohaneze Ndígbo presidency, and with it being Rivers State’s turn to provide the next president, I feel compelled to make a simple yet important appeal to all members of Ohaneze Ndígbo. The upcoming election is crucial to the future of our people, and it is important that we make a careful, thoughtful choice about who leads us.
First, I would like to stress the importance of electing a leader who has always embraced their Igbo identity. It is vital that no candidate who has ever denied or distanced himself from his Igbo roots, whether for political reasons or personal interests, is allowed to contest for this position. Ohaneze Ndígbo represents the unity, culture, and progress of the Igbo nation, and we cannot risk having someone who has, at any point, denied his Igbo heritage leading us.
We do not want a leader who has ever rejected his Igboness, regardless of his reasons for doing so. We cannot allow someone who has turned his back on the Igbo people to become the face of our organization. Anyone who has done this, whether deliberately or due to political convenience, should be disqualified from the race. We must hold firm to the principles of loyalty, unity, and pride in our identity.
Rivers State is home to many great Igbo men and women who have tirelessly supported the cause of Igbo unity. This is the time to reward these individuals—those who have long worked for the good of the Igbo nation—with the leadership they deserve. We have several well-meaning Igbo leaders in Rivers State who can be trusted to carry the mantle of leadership with honour and integrity. Let us support them, for they represent the true spirit of Ndígbo.
Furthermore, I urge all members to be aware of the influence of money and political power in this election. The presidency of Ohaneze Ndígbo should not be decided by the highest bidder or through manipulation. It is not for sale. We must ensure that our next leader is chosen based on merit, character, and genuine commitment to the Igbo cause, not through financial influence or external pressure.
Let us not allow this election to be driven by political games or personal interests. The future of our people is too important. We must choose a leader who will remain steadfast in their dedication to the Igbo nation, someone who will represent us with pride and work to strengthen the unity and progress of Ndígbo.
In conclusion, I appeal to every delegates of Ohaneze Ndígbo to make a wise and just choice in this upcoming election. Let us choose a president who will truly serve the best interests of Ndígbo, someone who is loyal to our culture, our people, and our future. Together, we can ensure that Ohaneze Ndígbo continues to stand as a proud and united voice for the Igbo nation.
Thank you.
