Anambra 2025 Football League Kicks-off August 25th

The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has officially rolled out plans for the 2025 Football League, unveiling a revamped structure aimed at deepening grassroots football development across the state.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that in a statement signed by Ralph Nweke, Secretary of ANSFA, on behalf of the
Chairman, Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi,
preparations are now in full swing for what promises to be a landmark edition of the league.

The tournament will Kicks-off on Sunday, 24th August 2025 at the Awka City Stadium, by 12:00 PM Prompt.

This year’s competition will debut with a Preliminary Knockout Round, designed to welcome new community teams and football academies into the league structure.

According to the FA, all matches in this phase will be played on neutral grounds to ensure fairness and inclusivity while successful teams will then qualify for the Main League Draw Ceremony, which will take place after the preliminaries.

All registered teams including those in the main league and preliminary round are mandated to attend. The event will also serve as an avenue to recognize sponsors, unveil partners, and unite football stakeholders across the state.

The Anambra FA stated that the registration guidelines are: Community Teams: ₦50,000 (Registration Only) while Football Academies: ₦150,000 (Registration & Affiliation)

Forms are available at the ANSFA office (Football House, Awka) or online. The FA noted that all registration fees are non-refundable and urged teams to register early to avoid a last-minute rush. Registration closes on July 31, 2025.

ANSFA assured teams and fans that the full rules and regulations for the league will be released in due course. Fixtures for both the preliminary and main league phases will follow the draw ceremony.

“The Anambra State FA remains committed to creating platforms for grassroots talents to thrive and be scouted for bigger opportunities,” the statement read.
