Anambra 2025: Ojoto Community Backs Ukachukwu

Ojoto Community in Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State has, over the weekend, thrown their weight behind candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.

The community made the commitment during the visit of Prince Ukachukwu and his entourage on Sunday.

The entire community literally exploded into songs, music and dancing as Ukachukwu’s campaign train arrived.

To augment the commitment, the Ezekwelu family of Enugo Ojoto, donated two branded campaign vehicles to Ukachukwu.

The handover of the vehicles climaxed the reception for the APC by the Community, the country home of Ukachukwu’s Chief of Staff, Dr Kingsley Ezekwelu.

Men, women and youths of the whole thirteen villages constituting Ojoto community and the adjoining communities of Oba, Ichi, Umuoji, Uke and Ideani all converged in anticipation of the governorship flagbearer’s arrival.

They were seen drumming and dancing in appreciation for the visitor and his political aspiration.

They chanted solidarity songs describing Ukachukwu as the people’s “emancipator” who is coming to rescue the state from the doldrums of daily killings, kidnappings and uncertainty.

They sang enthusiastically and overwhelmed the candidate and his campaign train.

The frenzy could only be compared to the electioneering campaign spectacle of days of yore.

In his brief remarks, Ezekwelu introduced Ukachukwu as his dear boss in whom he saw the qualities needed to rescue Anambra from the present catastrophic misrule.

Such misrule, he said, has become the poster signature of the state in the last three years and six months of the current APGA administration.

He described Ukachukwu as an experienced legislator and a multi-talented outstanding successful investor cum businessman.

According to him, Ukachukwu was a former member of the House of Representatives for the Abuja Capital Territory.

He is also a business man, a real estate guru and a man filled with milk of kindness.

Ezekwelu assured his listeners that Ukachukwu has very many good plans for the people of the state.

He subsequently formally presented him to the gathering and was accorded a thunderous standing ovation.

He used the opportunity to announce the donation of two Siena vehicles and other campaign materials by the Ezekwelu family.

This, he said, was in appreciation of Ukachukwu’s love for the people and in aid of his campaigns efforts.

In response, Ukachukwu pointed out that his word is always his bond and that he will live up to his campaign promises.

He said: “I will tell you what I can do. That which I can’t do, I won’t tell you.

“Those others aspiring to rule and those already in the saddle, please ask them what they have done for you.

“I went to school at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Onitsha.

“Those days drinking water was everywhere in public taps.

“Taps in the streets gushed out clean sparkling water and the pressure always snatches away the cup except you hold it with both hands.

“But these days, you can’t even find flood water to purify with alum.

“And as it is in Onitsha, so it is in all the 179 communities in the entire state.

“That is certainly not a measure of good governance.”

Respecting security, Ukachukwu said: “Security of lives and property in Anambra is zero despite huge cash regularly deducted monthly as security fund from the state’s coffers.

“Yet they could not prioritize security of lives and property as the primary objective of any government.

“Consequently, the spectacle of the free reign of non-state actors kidnapping and killing people for ransom and maiming others for the fun of it.

“In addition, they unleashed pestle wielding gang of cold-hearted hooligans on the people to beat them up and break their legs and arms in order to extract tax and other sundry levies willy nilly,” Ukachukwu lamented.

He noted that the state never had it so bad before now, more so as the taxation was multiple and debilitating.

He said further: “Now, I tell you that we have come to fix Anambra state and reclaim our state from non-state actors and hoodlums.

“We will, if you gave us your mandate, ensure that security of lives and property of every Nigerian living in this state is guaranteed.

“It will be security number one, two and three, because when we achieve it, every other thing will fall into place.

“We will provide you with solid road infrastructure starting with the road running from Nnewi to Ichi to Oba to this community within three months of our coming into office… not roads that will be washed away as soon as the first rain falls.”

Concerning the heavy tax on Anambra residents, Ukachukwu promised to “reduce the tax burden of our people and businessmen so that their businesses can grow.

“I will ensure that “Akaodo” tax collectors are nowhere to be seen because they are a disservice to our people.”

He also promised to build a power plant at Omasi in Ayamelum council area of the state to utilize the large deposits of natural gas there.

This, he said, will ensure steady power supply for both domestic consumption and industrial use.

When elected he also said he will embark on an agricultural revolution that will enrich the people through its value chain.

He similarly pledged to revolutionise the health and education sectors, as well as commerce, youth empowerment and employment.

“Welfare for every one of all ages would get priority attention.

“Remember, they have said they will share money as they did during the August 16, by-election.

When they bring it, take it, because it your money but vote them out at the polls and have life.

“That is why we are soliciting your support to fix Anambra for the good of everyone. We are all involved,” Ukachukwu said.

Ukachukwu assured of converting the Omasi Ayamelum Council area’s natural gas deposit to benefit all Anambra citizens.

He said it will reduce electricity tariff and ensure that gas will sell at low rates to low-income earners.

He also promised diverse representation in governance, including natives and non-natives.

Ukachukwu said he will support farmers with loans and grant protection to promote food security.
