Anambra Assembly Speaker ‘Udeze’ Launches Education Grants For Student

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has launched a ten million naira education grants for undergraduates, as well as student nurses in Colleges of Nursing Sciences.
In his remark at the event held at House of Assembly Complex, Rt. Hon. Udeze said the initiative will help alleviate the financial burdens faced by many Ogbaru students.
The Speaker encouraged the students to remain steadfast, focused, morally upright, avoid distractions and make the most of the opportunities provided for them.
Udeze reaffirmed his commitment to investing in human capital through direct support to students from Ogbaru Local Government Area currently in tertiary institutions.

this first phase supports 50 indigent students in four key institutions: Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Federal Polytechnic Oko, and Colleges of Nursing Sciences within Anambra State. Subsequent phases are expected in September and December 2025.

In their separate address, Chairman of the occasion, Rev. Fr. Fidelis Nwanze and Architect Augustine Anaegbunam appreciated the Speaker for the gesture, and advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the support and strive for academic excellence.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Miss Ginikachukwu Uzor and Mr Micheal Odigo expressed gratitude to the Speaker for the intervention, and pledged to make good use of the funds.
ANN recalls that the Speaker had implemented a free JAMB and WASSCE registration programme benefiting over 200 students across Ogbaru. He also facilitated the TRCN registration for teachers and employment support as part of his broader education intervention.
